Musée du Train Miniature de Châtillon sur Chalaronne

Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne · Ain · Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Miniature Train Museum of Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne presents an immense animated model of 200 m² reproducing real or imaginary landscapes on an HO scale of 1/87. Created from 1980 onwards and opened to the public since July 2000, this work by creator Patrick Crolle comprises approximately 1 km of railway track, 35 train sets, 400 wagons, more than 8,000 characters and several hundred automatons generating animated life scenes. The model incorporates recreations of well-known places, notably a reproduction of the Brotteaux district in Lyon, as well as settings from the Alps and Provence. The museum continues to perpetually evolve its installations and remains a collection of detailed constructions enriched with lighting and road traffic elements.
