The Jules Chéret Museum of Fine Arts has been located in Nice since 1928 in a residence built in 1878 by Ukrainian princess Kotschoubey and completed by American Thomson. It houses collections of painting and sculpture spanning from the 12th to the 20th century, constituted from State deposits and enriched by numerous donations and bequests. Its emblematic works include the Crucifixion by Agnolo Bronzino, canvases by Raoul Dufy and Pierre Bonnard, as well as a significant donation of 75 sculptures by Michel de Tarnowsky acquired in 2002. The building, characterized by remarkable ceiling heights and a monumental marble staircase, retains its original charm. As an institution, it holds a major role in Nice's cultural heritage.
