Musée de la Mine de Cap Garonne

Le Pradet · Var · Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur

The Cap Garonne Mine Museum, located in Le Pradet in the Var, is set up in former copper mines exploited since 1857. The site offers a visit of approximately one hour in underground galleries, complemented by multilingual digital content accessible via smartphone. The mine is distinguished by remarkable mineralogical diversity: it lists around 130 mineral species, of which 14 were identified for the first time in the world. The establishment welcomes all audiences, with dedicated offerings for schools, families and groups, as well as activities throughout the year. The site combines geological interest, industrial history and environmental issues, as part of a mountainous massif characteristic of Provençal geology.
