Maison de l’Eau et de la Vallée

Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon · Alpes-de-Haute-Provence · Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur

The House of Water and the Valley is a museum located in Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon, in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Created through a partnership between the town hall and the Culture, Leisure and Heritage association, this museum space traces the history of the Verdon valley before the construction of the lake and the reconstruction of the village that followed. The museum occupies two distinct spaces: a former classroom dedicated to the history of the valley, featuring a chronological mural, an interactive terminal, photographs and video projections; a converted courtyard dedicated to the theme of water, equipped with a digital screen allowing a virtual tour of the dam. The facility offers free visits and is open during the summer season.
