The Sahut Museum has been housed since 1988 in the Bosredon castle, an 18th-century building constructed according to the model of neoclassical Italian villas, located in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park in Volvic. It preserves approximately 20,000 works covering fine arts, graphic arts, decorative arts and non-European arts, constituted in part by the Marcel Sahut donation in 1985. The museum places particular emphasis on lava enameling, a local craft documented by a major collection and strengthened by deposits from prestigious heritage institutions. Its permanent collections are organized across three thematic levels: stone arts, 19th and 20th centuries, to which is added a new display dedicated to lava enameling opened in 2025. The museum regularly proposes temporary exhibitions and notably welcomes the work of Joseph Barbiero from April 7 to November 1, 2026, a self-taught artist who worked with Volvic stone.
