The Frédéric Dumas Museum is a museum dedicated to the history of autonomous scuba diving, located in Sanary-sur-Mer in the Var. It presents the life and work of Frédéric Dumas, a pioneer of underwater diving, as well as the technical and human history of autonomous diving since its origins. The museum preserves collections of historical diving equipment and has a documentary collection related to underwater hunting and the developments of this discipline. Its permanent exhibition traces the evolution of autonomous scaphandres and the notable figures in this history, including the inventors of the Cousteau-Gagnan scaphandre. The museum also conducts collection and preservation activities to enrich its heritage.
