Thonon-les-Bains · Haute-Savoie · Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Chablais Museum, located at the Sonnaz Castle in Thonon-les-Bains in Haute-Savoie, is an establishment. It offers a permanent exhibition entitled "A Leap Through Time, 7,000 Years of Chablais History" which traces the evolution of the territory from the Neolithic period to the Annexation of 1860, through more than 130 objects illustrating the region's archaeological, historical and cultural wealth. The museum gives particular prominence to artists' perspectives on Lake Léman, with works from the late 18th century to the 21st century. Located in the heart of the city, near Lake Léman and Alpine communication routes, it reflects the history of a transit territory marked by Roman and Savoyard cultures and geopolitical transformations. The museum offers guided tours, family activities and hosts a scheduled temporary exhibition.
