The Alpine Museum, officially the Mont-Blanc Museum, is an institution certified as a "Musée de France" since 2003, located in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in Haute-Savoie. It is dedicated to local history and the heritage of the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc valley, a major region of the French Alpine mountains. The museum preserves and promotes collections related to Alpine history, including major works by mountain painters such as Gabriel Loppé. Currently undergoing renovation, the establishment continues its cultural activities through off-site events and makes its collections available to the public through digital platforms, particularly within the Mountainmuseums network. The museum is committed to artistic and cultural education, notably offering the program "La classe, l'œuvre."
